Iridium monocrystalline crucibles
Heat and corrosion-resistant fine-walled
crucibles for durable application in aggressive environments.
Area of application:
- growing of oxide monocrystals with granular structure and complex
chemical composition (the Chohralsky method). GINALMAZZOLOTO develops
and manufactures iridium crucibles from monocrystals, which possess
optimal geometric forms. Iridium used for this production has a
purity of min. 99.995% due to refining based on the application
of newest technologies.
Advantages of the iridium monocrystalline
crucibles in comparison with the crucibles from polycrystalline
iridium:
- longer lifetime (for growing of Aluminium-Itrium garnets, the
operating life of a crucible is 2.5-3 thousand hours versus 600-800
hours);
- saving of metal due to finer walls of the crucible;
- higher quality of the grown oxide crystals (lower grade of pollution
with iridium);
- possibility to grow compound crystals (like Gadolinium-Scandium-Gallium
garnets).
These crucibles can have a cylindrical shape with a diameter varying
from 20 to 150 mm. The thickness of the walls is 0.5 - 3 mm, depending
on the diameter.
The maximum deviations in the terms of wall thickness are:
