Electrodes with PGM textured coating

Corrosion-resistant, highly selective anodes with textured coating for electrochemical industry and technological processes in aggressive environments;

Possible application fields:

  • Electrochemical production of oxidants; chemical compounds synthesis; electrowinning;
  • Electro-sedimentation of metals (gold and silver plating, chroming, etc.);
  • Electro-dialysis;
  • Electrochemical waste water purification;
  • Cathodic protection of sea-going ship hulls;
  • Production of Hydrogen and Oxygen via water electrolysis.

GINALMAZZOLOTO develops and manufactures nonconsumable anodes with optimal geometry of coating (continuous or discrete) and optimal composition of the active layer.

The technology of vacuum sputtering, which has been developed in GINALMAZZOLOTO, makes it possible to apply a coating with a monitored crystalline structure and high adhesive strength.

Coating materials: platinum, iridium and other PGMs and associated oxides and compounds.

Base: Ti, Nb, Ta and other metals in the form of foil, sheets, gauzes, mesh. The surface can be smooth or rough.

Coating thickness: from 0.01 mkm to 20 mkm. Maximum size of seamless anodes: 350 x 800. Should the order exceed 1000 m2, the maximum size of seamless anodes can be 700 x 1500.

An active homogeneous coating possesses a perfect pre-set texture, which provides a multiple increase of corrosion resistance; an increase of selectivity by 10 - 20% in comparison with the traditionally used anodes (clad, electroplated or electro-doped). The allowed anode current density is min. 10 kA/m2. The electrodes can also used in the processes with reversing voltage polarity.

A considerable reduction of precious metals consumption is provided during the manufacture and operation of the anodes.
